Allan & Marek: A full life

Neil lived a very full & very long life. So good to read that you & the girls were with him at the end.

I’m remembering the last time I saw him. At the Vancouver airport. A busy & chatty & fun b’fast with you & Mary Ann. Nice.

My sincerest condolences to you, Barb, & the rest of your family.

with hugs,

Allan.

We got the news about Neil this morning from Georgeanne.

My deepest condolences to you and the whole family.

We’ve spent the morning looking through all the photos and reading the messages on the website, reminiscing.

So many memories!

Some of my happiest times were back in the early 70s, when I was starting university in Ottawa, before Kevin was born, (you were living somewhere in lower town, no? I can’t remember!) and I used to go over to your place for a meal and an evening watching TV. Bliss.

Skiing in the Gatineau hills…

Marek

  1. Gosh, Maryann, delightful pics, some I’ve never before seen. From the visit to our island of Galiano, the meet-up at YVR. Thanks for sharing.

I’m suddenly remembering another time with your Dad. A C’mas time visit, in the early 1980s, of your family to our Ottawa apt. Your Dad arrived carrying a gift, a crafted reed basket that he was calling “a Bolivian lunchbox”. I’m stunned to realize that this same basket sits nearby as I type this, now in our Galiano home. Oh my. I’d forgotten. From now on we will refer to this as ‘Neil’s lunchbox’. (can’t figure out how how to post a photo of this … )

Even more hugs to you & yours,
    Allan.
