Nancy Cymbalisty: A big guy with a big heart
I’m thinking of you today and imagining the Collishaw family cooking a big turkey, as Neil would have wanted. We’ll share tears and laughter, stories, photos, memories, and maybe visits from friends nearby.
Last night I found the slides of our funky apartments on Augusta Street, our allotment garden plot, and shovelling that enormous snowfall of Feb13, 1971. So many wonderful memories.
Reading the tributes on the website reveals His legacy is so well-known around the world. I knew all that and I loved talking with him about his work and tobacco and vaping just because we were friends. Maybe only now I realize how lucky we are to have had such a great man as a friend. Kind, gracious, self-effacing, fun, a calm way about him, a big guy with a big heart.
I think of all the crafts you and I made Barb, dinners cooked and shared, skiing, snowshoeing, visiting our cottages, swimming , and fishing, canoeing. Ron really said it all in his beautiful tribute from the heart.
Big hugs
N.
