In 2022, when Kevin was here on a winter visit, he and I went for a ski with Dad in Gatineau Park. We didn’t go far, but we went together. Kevin using his expert coaching skills and Dad putting one foot in front of the other.

Skiing with Dad in Gatineau Park is one of my fondest memories – even if we spent a lot of time flopped in the snow, we persisted and he persisted.

He took up cross-country skiing when he moved to Ottawa, then downhill skiing when we moved to Geneva. His love of the outdoors inspired all of us to get out in the woods. Some of us liked it so much, we decided to move to the woods!

So, in his honour, find a tree, go skiing this winter, learn something new that brings you joy.
